A Fox News reporter was caught criticizing the security shortly before the shooting that took place last Saturday (25), during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner with Donald Trump.

Before going on air, Jimmy Failla was talking to other people on the red carpet when he was filmed complaining about the security at the venue. “They have like two random girls holding the front door open. Like guys, they’re not even trying anymore… they’re not even Secret Service people,” he said.

“It’s like the girls who work here are holding the door. They might as well put a doorstop. They put a doorstop and a scarecrow: don’t mess with this guy,” he added afterward, before laughing at the situation.

Failla’s comments came about an hour before a man identified as Cole Thomas Allen, 31, entered the venue with firearms. He was stopped by the Secret Service before reaching the hotel’s main hall, but according to the White House, he admitted that his target was employees of the Trump administration.

According to NBC News, before the attack, Allen sent a message to his family members apologizing to his parents, colleagues, students, viewers and others for what he was about to do. “I don’t expect forgiveness. Once again, my sincere apologies.”
